“Can you do that for me?”
We were in the ‘mixer area’ of the Vermont Association of Wedding Professionals’ annual meeting in Stowe, taking a break between sessions. I was just showing a colleague a fairly dramatic ‘selfie’ I had recently done using the hard light from a bare flash suspended over my head.
“Of course!” Vickie is a professional singer who performs with opera companies around New England, and she also runs a Vermont-based wedding business. She wanted to update the photos for her website and was hoping for something with a bit of drama. I knew the hard shadows and black eye shadows I had created in my own moody self portrait would never do for someone as lovely as Vickie, so we settled on more of a theatrical, performance look. I got to work tweaking the lights in my home studio to accomplish that task and Vickie brought the charm. We had a lot of fun, and created several looks for her to use in her promotional media.
My home studio is fully up-and-running… if you want headshots or full length portraits of any description, please get in touch! I would love to shape a look for you. As you can tell from the last photo, we’ll have a lot of fun!
